‘We could explore using words and paintings from poems and looking at how to mix the colours that perfectly capture the atmosphere and feeling of the writing to get some ideas flowing and see how colours and marks could work with words.
Once we have a good palette of colours and marks emerging we will aim to make either booklets on concertina paper or paint canvases. With quick 'exercises' and colour mixing strips we could create a 'weather wave'...this depends on how prolific we are! It could be a nice thing to add to throughout the exhibition?’
Please bring an old shirt or apron to protect your clothes and a plate, lid or palette for mixing paints. It would be great if you could also bring a poem or sketch, object or photo you might like to work from.
Anyone is very welcome to bring their own materials along if they prefer to.
